Pastor James and Imam Muhamad from Nigeria

Lecture for students

Thursday November 7, 2019

How can people of different faith come together and live in peace?

Two decades ago, Pastor James Wuye and Imam Muhammad Ashafa led opposing militias in Nigeria, rocked by ethnic and religious violence. Today, they travel their country and the world in order to give testimony that reconciliation is possible and teach Muslims and Christians how to live in peace. Two outstanding witnesses and an extraordinary story.

The lecture will be introduced by dr. Rachel Spronk (UvA), anthropologist, who lived in Jos, Nigeria.

Venue: University of Amsterdam (UvA), REC A 1.02, Nieuwe Achtergracht 166, Amsterdam

Time: 19.15 – 21.15
